Scott Kelby’s Third Annual Worldwide Photo Walk in Laguna Beach, CA

Last Saturday, July 24th 2010, was Scott Kelby’s 3rd annual Worldwide Photo Walk, which I attended with 9 other photographers in Laguna Beach, CA (and 33,485 from around the world) on a perfect Southern California late afternoon.

One of the cool things about a photo walk is hanging out with people who have a common interest in photography and the ability to share ideas, tips and advice while discovering a neighborhood. Because of the small number of photographers in our group (our walk was one of the last one added to the program), it allowed us to get to know each other better and definitely enhanced communication among us. Photos from our group can be viewed here while the full pool of Worldwide Photo Walk photos can be found here.

We started our walk on the boardwalk at the main beach in front of the Laguna Beach lifeguard tower and looped around town before coming back to the beach just in time for a perfect California beach sunset.

You can view more of my photography from the photowalk by clicking here or purchase prints from this event by visiting this page.

Bastille Day

In honor of Bastille Day (the French national holiday celebrated each year on July 14th to commemorate the beginning of the French revolution of 1789), here’s a picture of Laurent dating back to his time served in the French Armed Forces between 1993 and 1994.

July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza

A few pictures of last night’s July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza at Harold’s Coral in Cave Creek, Arizona. The fireworks display which has been a tradition at Harold’s for more than two decades is always one of the greatest each year in the Valley of the Sun.

2009 Arizona Fall Colors

We spent the weekends of October 10th and 17th, 2009 off-roading around Flagstaff and Sedona, in the Arizona high country searching for Fall colors. We were most successful on the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff and particularly on the Inner Basin Trail off Lockett Meadow and on the way to the Arizona Snow Bowl, the local ski resort. Around Sedona, the best spots were on the West Fork trail and down Schnebly Hill road.

Cancun, Mexico

Our stay in Cancun, Mexico for Dalila & Brad’s wedding included some very relaxing moments playing tourist. Sunny blue skies, warm sand and turquoise waters along with 90% humidity were all part of these wonderful Caribbean moments. Here are few of them…

Hello World!… and Welcome to my blog :)

Thanks for coming by and visiting my new blog! I’m really excited about this new medium of communication but also a bit worried… who has time to keep one of these up??… I promise to give it my best and truly hope that one of my favorite quote from Joey Tribiani doesn’t come true… ”I figured I’d have like, time alone with my thoughts but, ya know, it turns out I don’t have as many thoughts as you’d think.”

I promise I have good intentions of keeping you updated with what is happening in the life of Studio Laurent.

Check back soon for more posts as this blog will be updated weekly… I hope!
